Slopes:
Total length of 110 km
(skiing region Hochgurgl ca. 54 km, skiing region Obergurgl ca. 56 km) 35 km easy (blue), 55 km medium (red), 20 km difficult (black). | Beginners are usually practicing at the Gaisberg- and Mahdstuhllifts. The advanced skier you will find at the Festkogel and the Schermerspitz. Experts love to ski the Hohe Mut and the mogul slopes at Top Wurmkogel II.
Longest slope: Wurmkogl - Obergurgl/Pill (8 km – elevation difference of 1.260 m).
Snow making:
The modern artificial snow making machines guarantee snow – no matter if you dream of powder or prefer firn snow – pure pleasure on 110 kilometres of slopes.
Since 1999/2000 90% of the slopes are equipped with snow making machines to be able being the Skiing resort that guarantees snow. The machines are controlled by a computer and snowing starts automatically when the right temperature and humidity are available. Five weather stations are giving detailed information to the computer.
To produce artificial snow air and drinking water are used. The water will be transferred from a reservoir (10.000 m³) in the Gaisberg valley.
