Kirchenkarbahn Section II

This new 10-seater cable car is a highlight of skiing holidays in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl: the Kirchenkarbahn Section II. The pièce de resistance takes you along a new route on the Kirchenkogel to the new upper terminal at 2,839m above sea level. The monocable gondola climbs 5m per second, which means that it only takes around 9 minutes to cover the 664m elevation gain from the lower terminal (2,175m) to the top. All of the new cable cars have heated seats for added comfort. The new section expands access to 2.2 kilometres of new ski runs – red and blue. For freeride fans who are looking for thrills outside the signposted ski areas on their own, there is varied terrain to explore on either side of the upper terminal. Excellent conditions are guaranteed until late spring thanks to the high altitude and the northeast-facing slopes below the Kirchenkogel summit. The high altitude of the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area (1,800m to 3,080m) above the tree line guarantees snow until Easter as well as perfect pistes well into spring. A skiing holiday you’ll never forget.
