New TOP cable car and ski area in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl
Obergurgl-Hochgurgl has already made it into the league of the world’s most attractive ski areas. The diamond of the Alps at the head of the Tyrolean Ötztal Valley is no longer just a hot tip amongst insiders and has made a name for itself among carvers, skiers and freeriders as the Alps’ most snow-secure ski area. And thanks to the extra wide pistes it’s also one of the safest.
A holiday in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is stylish, relaxing and takes you close to nature. It’s also pretty innovative! Thanks to Obergurgl-Hochgurgl’s new Kirchenkarbahn II 10-seater gondola lift, the existing cable car will be extended, opening up new ski slopes and a new freeride area. Starting this winter 2018/19 season, the monocable gondola lift on the new Kirchenkogl route will take you to a new upper terminus at 2,839m above sea level. The Kirchenkarbahn II moves at 5m per second, which means that traveling the 664 vertical metres from the lower terminus at 2,175m above sea level takes around 9 minutes. The new gondolas all have heated seats. In other TOP news, even more superb winter holiday variety is now guaranteed thanks to the Super Ski Pass: explore all 6 Ötztal ski areas with just one ticket. Available for three or more days this winter season 2018/19! 356km of slopes accessible with just one ski pass.
